Image video
The entire process for this video was spread out over a 6 weeks period from start to finish for planning, shooting, writing, recording and editing.
The video shooting process
▪ a 4 hour shoot of Rita with Connie
▪ a 2 hour shoot of Rita with Hans-Jörg
▪ a 1 hour shoot of Rita with Gordon
▪ about 2 hours for b-roll material (Berlin Alexanderplatz, scenes from Mitte, etc.)
The entire filming that I did for this project created a total of 9 hours video material.
After filming
Two 8-hour days were spent selecting and editing photo material for still images. This provided enough material to make a first draft and edit, which was spread out over a period of three weeks.
Also, Rita and I spent 2 hours planning and writing the descriptive text.
Sounds
During the following two weeks, I spent two 8-hour days recording and editing the background music. We also used three one-hour sessions to record and correct our voiceovers. I spent one eight-hour session editing the voiceovers.
This allowed me to finish a second draft and edit of the video.
Final editing
On the sixth week, I added the special effects, music and voiceovers and spell checked the text in one eight-hour session.
